We arrived at Garching, Munich, Germany three weeks ago. I have many funny things to blog, but don’t have time. ESO is a really nice institute, it has a funny building, I still get lost sometime inside. Maybe it just marches an astronomy institute. Garching is a peaceful small town, close to Munich. We are searching for an apartment at Garching. On the way to work, I can see field. It is such a relaxing thing to walk beside wheat field. And the beer is so delicious…
We are moving to Munich, Germany on July 1. I got a job at European Southern Observatory, working on a laser guide star project. I have been in Europe two times, but it is the first time to live there, in western culture.
I already learn something about Munich: beer, English garden, beautiful river and lakes, etc. It is very exciting, for my wife in particular. We plan to travel arround Europe during the stay.
Though I get a job at an observatory, I know nothing about Astronomy or Astrophysics. I will take the opportunity trying to get familiar with the field.
