The Computational Research Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory seeks a postdoctoral research scientist to participate in the development of parallel algorithms and software for coupled climate models on leading-edge high performance computers. A recent PhD in earth/atmospheric sciences or related discipline is required. The demonstrated ability to handle large-scale scientific application codes and data I/O, extensive experience in programming Fortran, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other scientists are essential. Experience in high performance computing is preferred. This is a one-year term appointment with the possibility of renewal. 联想到今年早些时候的另一个新闻：

据英国《观察家》报2月22日报道，五角大楼在向布什总统递交的一份绝密报告中警告说：今后20年全球气候变化对人类构成的威胁要胜过恐怖主义。届时，因气候变暖、全球海平面升高，人类赖以生存的土地和资源将锐减，并因此引发大规模的骚乱、冲突甚至核战争，成百上千万人将在战争和自然灾害中死亡。

这个专业方向大有可为啊。：）
